A registered NPO providing feeding stations, TNR programs, and rescue services for strays, ferals, and abandoned animals in Hazyview.
Pets in Distress Hazyview is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO 2022/384226/08) dedicated to preventing cruelty and neglect by providing assistance to all pets in distress in and around Hazyview.
We operate feeding stations in and around Hazyview, assisting to feed strays, ferals, and those in need โ alongside our active TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program.
Founded and driven by a passionate team of volunteers, every cent donated and every hour given goes directly to animals who cannot speak for themselves.
"We work closely with PID and can attest to the dedication and compassion with which they assist animals in need within the Hazyview community. Their efforts in animal welfare, rescue, feeding, and community support make a meaningful difference on a daily basis."Dr Jana Prinsloo ยท BSc BVSc ยท Hazyview Animal Clinic
We maintain multiple feeding stations in and around Hazyview, providing consistent daily meals for stray and feral animals. No animal goes hungry where we have a presence.
Our TNR program is the most humane and effective method for managing stray and feral cat populations. Sterilised animals are ear-tipped for identification.
When animals are found injured, abandoned, or in critical distress, we respond. We provide emergency vet care, rehabilitation, and where possible, safe rehoming.
Every animal we rescue is a candidate for a forever home. We carefully vet potential adopters to ensure each animal finds a safe, loving environment.
Using humane box traps baited with food, we safely capture stray and feral cats for assessment and sterilisation.
Partnering with local vets, captured animals are sterilised under proper anaesthesia. Ear-tipping marks them as part of the program.
After recovery, sterilised animals are returned to their familiar territory where they live out healthy, natural lives without reproducing.

Every day, animals across Hazyview are found abandoned, injured, or in desperate need of care. Pets in Distress responds to these calls โ covering dogs, cats, and through our wildlife partners, birds, owls, primates, and other animals in harm's way.

When euthanasia is the only kindness โ We make the hardest decisions with compassion. When an animal is beyond suffering, we ensure they pass with dignity and without pain. It is never easy. It is always an act of love.

Every animal below was once a stray, a feral, or forgotten. Today, they have a name, a family, and a future.

"Every adoption is a life transformed โ for the animal and the family that opens their home."
